March 16, 2000 An observation deck has been built and should be in use very soon. We also moved the model temple back to Temple Square next to the observation deck on the west side of Temple Square. There is talk of guide service being available at the observation platform for the Temple construction before long. We will be able to get better pictures when that happens. Tourism is starting to increase as winter is fading into spring. The new pioneer crafts building is close to being finished. A permanent camera on Temple Square is catching the actual construction on film. The pictures will be used for a future film of the construction of the Temple. Sixty-eight caissons have been placed, and they are now clearing for the next step. The Temple will have a sub-basement near where the well was and a fifteen foot hole is now being dug. This will hold the mechanical equipment.
